Riyadh, August 22, 2019, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Yaum newspaper said in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's speech before the Security Council's session held under the title “Maintaining international peace and security and challenges standing against achieving peace and security in the Middle East has indicated its firm principles along with its absolute commitment to the principles of the international law and its respect for all UN binding resolutions for achieving international peace and security, defusing tensions from all their sources and calling for peace, security and stability within human societies. On the other hand, the paper noted that Iran through its aggression acts poses a serious threat to the security of the Middle East region through its blatant interference in the internal affairs of the countries of the region and its support for terrorist organizations that continue in bringing instability, corruption and destruction in many of these countries. On Yemen, Okaz newspaper said in its editorial entitled ''The Yemeni Crisis and the Saudi Role'' that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is seeking during these days to end sedition and contain the on-going situations in Aden, the interim capital, as the Transitional Council is seeking for tightening its grip on some sites and government institutions. The paper added that proceeding from the permanent keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on security and stability of Yemen, it called for an urgent meeting between the parties of the dispute in Jeddah. --SPA 10:18 LOCAL TIME 07:18 GMT 0003 www.spa.gov.sa/w1159380
