Jeddah,30 December,2018 , SPA --The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the approval of Israeli authorities for the construction of 2,200 new settlement units, stressing that this constitutes an extension of its violations of the rights of the Palestinian people. The OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen stressed that the continued construction and expansion of Israeli settlements are a flagrant violation of the international law and relevant United Nations conventions and resolutions, calling on the international community, in particular the Security Council, to shoulder their responsibilities and take tangible action towards a full halting of Israeli settlement policy in Palestinian territories, including the city of Al-Quds. --SPA 16:00 LOCAL TIME 13:00 GMT 0010 www.spa.gov.sa/w813073
