Geneva, 16 Muharram,1440 AH, 26 September,2018 , SPA -- The Human Rights Council today held an interactive dialogue with the Committee of Regional and International Experts on Yemen. The High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet presented during the session her report on the human rights situation in Yemen since the armed militia took power in September 2014. The High Commissioner's report confirmed that the Houthi militia had committed acts amounting to war crimes, including torture, ill-treatment, abuse of human dignity, forced recruitment of children under the age of 15 and their exploitation in military actions and in the planting of mines. The report noted that more than 842 children were recruited by the coup militia, the youngest one not exceeding 11 years old, and that the militia forcibly recruited them from schools, hospitals and homes. For his part, the Chairman of the Committee of Experts of the Committee's report Kamel Jendoubi thanked the command of the Arab Coalition and the Yemeni government, which responded to the inquiries of the Committee and provided information; and at the same time, he criticized the failure to response from the Houthi coupist militia to the Committee's inquiries and has not provided it with any information so far. -- SPA 14:30 LOCAL TIME 11:30 GMT 0019 www.spa.gov.sa/w756049
