Based on of the depth of ties between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their brotherly peoples, and the strong brotherly ties between Egyptian President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and strengthening the strategic and distinct relations between the two countries, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense, responded to the invitation to visit the Arab Republic of Egypt on 4th March 2018 where HRH the Crown Prince was received by President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi. The session of talks between the two sides dealt with the aspects of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. They expressed their satisfaction with the level of cooperation and coordination between the two brotherly countries, stressing the importance of supporting and strengthening them to the interest of both countries and peoples in the political, security, military, cultural, educational, commercial, investment and tourism fields in addition to seizing the opportunities in order to enhance the integration between the two countries and solidarity in the face of common challenges. They were also satisfied with the positive results of the visits exchanged between the leaders of the two countries during the past period. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest with the aim of strengthening and enhancing security and stability in the region and the world. The two sides expressed their determination to confront the danger of extremism and terrorism and threats against security and peace in the region and around the world, stressing the need to uproot terrorism and defeat all terrorist organizations, without exception, entirely and finally. They affirmed their boldness to confront financing, and remain steadfast against the provision of safe shelters or media platforms for terrorism. In this context, the Saudi side expressed its full support for the successful efforts of the Egyptian government to eradicate terrorism entirely and finally within context of "Sinai 2018 Operation", pointing out the great successes achieved in this operation and paying tribute to the great sacrifices made by the Egyptian armed forces and police. The two sides discussed the most important issues at the Arab arena, stressing the importance of preserving the Arab national security and maintaining the territorial integrity and safety of the Arab countries. The two sides expressed their commitment to work on crystallizing a comprehensive vision and an ambitious plan to develop and reform the joint Arab action system, particularly the Arab League, in order to strengthen the Arab capabilities to address the challenges facing the region and the increasing threats to regional security. The two sides affirmed that strengthening Egyptian-Saudi cooperation represents a fundamental pillar for maintaining the Arab national security and confronting the foreign interferences in the internal affairs of the Arab countries, which led to inciting tensions, conflicts and terrorist activities in Syria, Libya, Yemen and Iraq. In this context, the two sides affirmed their full support for all legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, particularly the right to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Al-Quds as its capital on the 1967 parallel in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy based on the two-state solution and aspirations of the Palestinian people. The two sides also stressed the importance of supporting the political process to end the Syrian crisis in order to preserve the unity of the Syrian territory and achieve the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian brotherly people in accordance with "Geneva 1" Declaration and Security Council resolution No. 2254, expressing their support for the UN envoy to the Syrian crisis, Stephan de Mistura.
