Makkah, Jumada II 20, 1438, Mar 19, 2017, SPA -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has confirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to provide an example for protecting the rights and legitimate freedoms, and achieving prosperity and comprehensive social development, in accordance with Islamic Sharia, preserving the social security and enhancing confidence in our religion and between the citizen and government officials. This came in a speech delivered on behalf of the monarch by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, at the opening ceremony of the international conference on intellectual orientations between speech freedom and Sharia fundamentals, hosted by Makkah-based Muslim World League. Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz said that, as per the holy Quran, humans are free to have their blood, money and honor preserved and remain free except from worshipping God Almighty. He recalled the stipulations prescribed by the Islamic Jurisprudence Complex, an affiliate of MWL, eight years ago, stating that the aim is to appease God and serve the interests of Muslims, not to attack the religion or its worships, rituals and sanctities, remain committed to objectivity, sincerity, and values of the society, not mar the social order, not to defame others, observe balancing between interests and evils, resort on sources for other opinions and evading rumors. --SPA 18:15 LOCAL TIME 15:15 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w357024
