Jeddah, Jumada II 10, 1438, Mar 9, 2017, SPA -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) received with deep regret the news of a suicide attack at a wedding ceremony near the Iraqi city of Tikrit which claimed around 23 lives and wounded tens of people. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the OIC is shocked by this barbaric act that lacks any justification other than the spread of violence and division and which is at variance with all human and religious values and the teachings of Islam. It calls on all Iraqis to unite their ranks, overcome their differences and cooperate with government authorities to uncover these terrorist networks, curtail their crimes and bring their perpetrators and their masterminds to justice. For his part, the OIC Secretary General, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, expressed his profound annoyance and strong condemnation of these criminal acts that claimed the lives of innocent Iraqis.
