OIC Condemns Suicide Bombing Attack at Mosque in Nigeria

Jeddah, Muharram 11, 1437, Oct 24, 2015, SPA -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned the bomb attack on Friday, 23 October 2015, believed to have been detonated by two suicide bombers, resulting in the death of at least 28 people and injuring more others who have gathered for the morning prayers near Polo ground in Maiduguri, Borno State in northeast Nigeria. OIC Secretary General Iyad bin Ameen Madani expressed his sorrow at this incessant killing of mostly innocent lives in the ongoing violence in that part of Nigeria. He appealed to the perpetrators to realize the futility of such criminal acts and to bring an end to the suffering of the people in the area. He offered his condolences to the families of the victims of the violence and to the people and the Government of Nigeria.
