Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Inaugurates Shura Council's 1st Year of 7th Session 5 Riyadh

Following are excerpts from the speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques distributed over the Shura Council members, including a review of the domestic and foreign policy: "This 24th anniversary of the Shura Council in its new form following being initiated by late King Abdulaziz Al Saud, yet confirms that our State is serious to adopt this consultative practice as per instructions of Allah Almighty in his holy book of the Quran as follows: "And Ordered them for Mutual Consultation". Hence, our State followed this consultative methodology to run the affairs of the State, giving me a great pleasure to provide you with the most important points as regards the developmental and security achievements at the domestic arena as well as the State's foreign policies and positions which left a tangible effect on preserving the national interest and enhancing security, peace and stability at the regional and international arenas. Thanks to its high economic profile at the world standing, the Kingdom was part of the world's G20 economies. Now we are gearing towards an economic transformation aiming to diversify the sources of income through a non-oil-dependence economy to draw a promising future for our country. To achieve the goal of expediting a comprehensive developmental renaissance in all sectors through availing ourselves of the economic fundamentals and the promising investment opportunities in the Kingdom, we have adopted the Kingdom's vision 2030 which reflects the strength and firmness of the Saudi economy upon a new reform vision that would transfer the country to wider potentials enabling it to face the challenges, enhance its position in the world economy through diversifying the sources of income, exploiting the available abilities, wealth and might to provide a dignified life for citizens.
