"We meet today and our states face many challenges at all levels and are faced by media campaigns which require us to address them with united action based on long-term strategies and urgent media plans with all traditional and new media outlets. Our responsibility, as ministers of information, in these difficult and critical periods is growing for advancement of our states' media. We have to address these directed media campaigns against the GCC states. It is an important opportunity for the GCC information ministries and commissions to conduct an accurate review of the strategies of the GCC join media action in crisis in light of acceleration of events around us. We have to exchange ideas and visions in order to develop and implement unified joint media campaign and pursuit to enhance efforts to be consistent with the directives and aspirations of the GCC leaders in developing performance of the GCC media in order to achieve the desired goals," Al-Toraifi said. "Since establishment of the GCC Secretariat General in 1981, the GCC institutions seek to achieve the supreme goals set up by the GCC leader for the service of the GCC citizens. They believe that the GCC is one entity with many bonds, including religion, blood and common destiny," he added. --More 17:39 LOCAL TIME 14:39 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
