Geneva, Jumada II 15, 1438, Mar 14, 2017, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has expressed concern over a report of the International Commission of Inquiry on Syria submitted to the United Nations Human Rights Council on Syria and the size of the crimes against humanity and war crimes committed by Bashar Al-Assad regime and its allies and militias, especially in eastern areas of the city of Halab (Aleppo). This came in the Kingdom's speech before the United Nations Human Rights Council during the interactive dialogue with the International Commission of Inquiry on Syria. This speech was delivered by Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Mutairi, head of the Kingdom's human rights committee delegation to the United Nations in Geneva. Dr. Al-Mutairi expressed the Kingdom's condemnation regarding Assad regime's air force targeting the convoys of UN humanitarian assistance which resulted in killing a number of innocent people and destroying about 17 trucks. This attack caused suspension of UN aid convoys in Syria. He also expressed the Kingdom's concern over the report's findings, including systematic and wide-scale violations of human rights and international humanitarian law in Halab.
