Joint meeting between GCC FMs and Kerry held

Riyadh, Rabi'II 13, 1437, January 23, 2016, SPA -- Foreign ministers of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held a joint meeting with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry at King Salman airbase in Riyadh today. The meeting discussed cooperation relations between the GCC countries and the United States of America within the current strategic partnership as well as the outcome of discussions on other joint cooperation fields which took place at the GCC-U.S. summit held in Camp David in May 2015 in addition to the developments of the situations in the region and the international anti-terrorism efforts. GCC foreign ministers arrived in Riyadh earlier today. They are Yousef bin Alawe bin Abdullah, the Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the UAE; Sheikh Sabah bin Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Kuwait's First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister; Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Aityya, Foreign Minister of Qatar; and Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Foreign Minister of Bahrain. Also arriving earlier today was John Kerry, the U.S. Secretary of State. They were received at King Salman airbase in Riyadh by Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council; Azzam Al-Gain, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign affairs for Protocol Affairs; GCC ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom; Major General Khalid bin Fahd Al-Rodhan; and a representative of the Royal Protocol. --SPA 14:04 LOCAL TIME 11:04 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
