Arab League's Council issues communique, condemning Iranian attacks on Saudi Embassy in Tehran and Saudi consulate in Mash-had.

Cairo, Rabi'I 30, 1437, January 10, 2016, SPA -- The Council of the Arab League condemned the attacks on the Saudi Embassy in Tehran and the Saudi consulate in Mash-had. In its communique issued after the end of the emergency meeting held here today at the level of foreign ministers at the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Council of the Arab League held Iran responsible for these attacks, calling on Iran to abide by international conventions and treaties in this regard, mainly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations 1963. The council deplored Iran's hostile and provocative statements against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following the execution of a number of terrorists, according to judicial rulings against them. The council considered these Iranian hostile and provocative statements as a blatant interference in the affairs of the Saudi justice and the internal affairs of the Kingdom, such Iranian activities considered incompatible with the UN Charter. The council stressed standing united by the side of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, supporting the decisions and measures taken by the Kingdom to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, prosecuting the agitators and perpetrators of terrorist acts and bringing them to justice. --More 01:09 LOCAL TIME 22:09 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
