Kano, Safar 6, 1437, Nov 18, 2015, SPA -- Two explosions on Wednesday rocked the city of Kano in northern Nigeria, killing at least five people, police said. According to dpa, a witness put the death toll at more than 25. The blasts hit a mobile phone market during business hours. Kano State police commissioner Mohammad Kastina confirmed five casualties, including two female suicide bombers. One of the bombers was a teenager, according to the daily Premium Times. Witnesses reported a much higher death toll at the crowded market. One of them, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said more than 25 people had been killed. Phone seller Malam Haruna Fagge, who escaped unhurt, said the security level was low at the market. "For long, we have called for more protection from police," he said, describing the market as "a soft target for terrorists." --SPA 20:31 LOCAL TIME 17:31 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
