Russian cargo spaceship to blast off to International Space Station

Moscow, Dhu-AlHijjah 17, 1436, October 01, 2015, SPA -- A Russian cargo spaceship was preparing to blast off on Wednesday to bring 2.3 tonnes of supplies to the International Space Station, state news agency TASS reported, according to dpa. The Progress M-29M ship was awaiting attachment to a Soyuz-2 carrier rocket at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, which Russia leases in the fellow former Soviet nation of Kazakhstan, according to the TASS report. The craft is expected to reach the space station within nine hours of the launch, scheduled around 1645 GMT, industry news site Spaceflight101 reported. The craft will carry 1.5 tonnes of cargo, including 430 kilograms of food, 420 kilograms of water, 350 kilograms of fuel and 50 kilograms of pressurized air and oxygen, according to Spaceflight101. --SPA 14:02 LOCAL TIME 11:02 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
