Moscow, Jumada II 22, 1437, Mar 31, 2016, SPA -- A Russian spacecraft carrying 2.5 tonnes of cargo, including food, fuel and an experimental nanosatellite, blasted off on Thursday for the International Space Station, dpa reported. The spacecraft, called Progress, launched with a Russian-made Soyuz carrier rocket from the Soviet-built Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan and is expected to dock with the station on Saturday, state news agency TASS reported. The spacecraft is carrying the first-ever nanosatellite built with 3-D printing technology, the report said. The plastic-encased satellite, constructed by Tomsk Polytechnic University, will operate for about six months to test the new technology, according to a statement on the university's website. -- SPA 20:51 LOCAL TIME 17:51 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
