ISESCO holds extraordinary meeting to cast light on urgent matters regarding the situation of Islamic heritage

Rabat, Dec. 02, 2019, SPA -- The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), held an extraordinary two-day meeting in Rabat today to discuss ways to build a new system to strengthen capabilities to preserve the cultural and civilizational Islamic legacy and rehabilitate it to contribute in a stronger way to the economic and social development of the Islamic countries. In his opening speech, Director of Culture at ISESCO Dr. Najib Al-Ghiati warned that the list of world heritage in danger contains 37 sites inside the Islamic world out of 54, a rate of 75% of the vulnerable sites.
