Kuwait, Safar 30, 1436, December 22, 2014, SPA -- GCC wildlife preservation committee, chaired by the Deputy Director of the Kuwaiti General Commission for Environment for Technical Affairs Mohammed Al-Enezi, started in Kuwait today its 14th high-level meeting. Prince Bandar bin Saud bin Mohammed, the President of the Saudi Wildlife Commission led the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the meeting. Participants are set to discuss a wide-range of issues of interest to the parties, including the new organizational structure, the environmental police proposal, the Saudi proposal on media plan for wildlife enlightenment, and the Kuwaiti suggestion on holding a workshop on ways to combat illegal trading of hunting leopards. In a press statement, Dr. Abdullah Al-Hashem, GCC Assistant Secretary General for Human and Environment Affairs, said related meetings over the next two days in Kuwait will also review the cooperation within the strategic dialogue with each of Turkey, Jordan and Morocco as well as the steps so far taken on a study to establish the GCC environmental monitoring center, the green initiative projects for environment and sustainable development, the UN agreement on climate change and KYOTO protocol, the Saudi proposal to enhance environmental education in schools of the GCC countries, and Bahrain's draft agreement on a GCC environmental protection framework agreement. --SPA 13:56 LOCAL TIME 10:56 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
