UNITED NATIONS, Safar 24, 1436, Dec. 16, 2014, SPA -- U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned the deadly Taliban attack Tuesday on a military-run school in Pakistan as “an act of horror and rank cowardice to attack defenseless children while they learn.” According to media reports, Taliban gunmen stormed the Army Public School in Peshawar Tuesday, killing at least 130 people, mostly children, in the worst attack to hit the country in years. “No cause can justify such brutality,” Ban said. “No grievance can excuse such horror. Getting an education is every child’s right. Going to school should not have to be an act of bravery.” --SPA 22:33 LOCAL TIME 19:33 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
