Prince Saud Al-Faisal said "today's meeting was a good opportunity for us to discuss the phenomenon from different aspects, and probe its roots and causes in-depth, and we expressed keenness to come out with an unified vision on how to combat it militarily, security and intelligencewise, economically, politically and intellectually". He added that the participants in the meeting were keen to deal with the phenomenon of terrorism from a strategic and comprehensive profile that is not confined to a single country but stretches to deal with terrorism which now ravages each of Libya, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen which became a final station for those organizations and their networks, particularly as regards the flow of weapons and equipment to it and across each of them. He drew the attention that establishment of ISIL is yet a good example for the spread of terror that aborted the borders between Iraq and Syria, a development enabling it to move freely into the Syrian territories with all its forces and equipment using the place as a safe haven when trying to evade heavy shelling in Iraq. Prince Saud Al-Faisal said the other element of the issue which was discussed in today's meeting is the importance of drawing explicit plans and policies and sharing of responsibilities in addition to seriousness and continuation of the required movement to wipe out the terrorist organizations as lagging behind will not help to root-out this phenomenon, not only that but it might encourage them to come from behind more stronger than before. He cited previous experiences to prove this. He said that it goes without saying that any security move against terror should be accompanied by serious moves to combat the deviant thinking that leads to terrorism, cut financing and the flow of weapons to them from some countries who are working hard to destabilize the region and interfere into their internal affairs. He said the meeting discussed the instable political situations in some countries where terrorism is centralized, a matter that necessitates intensifying political efforts to rectify the situations in those countries so that their citizens come together, regardless of their religious sects and social ethnicity with all the needed fairness and equality, including rights and duties, noting that, as part of the required efforts to combat terrorism, it was asserted that it is important to preserve the unity, sovereignty, independence and territorial integration of the countries. --More 00:08 LOCAL TIME 21:08 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
