Consultative Meeting for States Parties of Arab Charter on Human Rights with Kuwaiti Presidency

Cairo, December 29, 2021, SPA -- Arab Human Rights Committee today at the headquarters of the Arab League held a consultative meeting with states parties in the Arab Charter on Human Rights, under the presidency of Assistant Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs for Human Rights Ambassador Talal Al-Mutairi and with the participation of Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the Arab League Ambassador Hayfa Abu Ghazaleh and members of Arab Human Rights Committee chaired by Advisor Jaber Al-Mirri. The meeting also witnessed the participation of representative of parties in the Charter: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, Libya, Algeria, Palestine, Qatar, Iraq, Sudan, Bahrain and Jordan, Ambassador Al-Mutairi, in a statement at the conclusion of the meeting, stressed the importance of this committee in its capacity as an Arab mechanism within the mechanisms of the human rights system affiliated with the Arab League, expressing hope for the Committee to practice its role in instilling what was mentioned in the Arab Charter on Human Rights. --SPA 17:17 LOCAL TIME 14:17 GMT 0018 www.spa.gov.sa/w1671522
