Dhuhr (noon) and Asr (afternoon) prayers performed at Namira mosque in Arafat valley

Arafat, Outskirts of Makkah, Saudi Arabia, Dhu-Al-Hijjah 9, 1438 H., Aug 31, 2017, SPA -- As per the tradition of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh), pilgrims flocked since early morning today to perform Dhuhr (noon) and Asr (afternoon) prayers at Namira mosque in Arafat valley. The 110,000 sq.m. mosque was fully-occupied by white-dress male and female pilgrims coming from all over the world. Worshippers were led by Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah Region and Chairman of Hajj Central Committee and Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh, General Mufti of the Kingdom, Chairman of the Senior Ulema Commission, the Religious Research Administration and Ifta. Sheikh Dr. Saad bin Nasser Al-Shathri, member of the Senior Ulema Commission, delivered Arafa Speech. Thanking God Almighty for his uncountable graces and blessings, Al-Shathri urged pilgrims to remain committed to God s instructions and keep away from committing crimes. He stated that belief in the monotheism is the base of faith, explaining that it means no God but Allah and noting that the second most important testimony is that a Muslim believes that Mohammed is his messenger. Al-Shathri quoted Prophet Mohammed as showing the way to paradise through following the five pillars of Islam, namely, the testimony that no God but Allah and acknowledging that Mohammed is his messenger, performing prayers, paying alms, fasting Ramadan and perform Hajj, if affordable. --More22:45 LOCAL TIME 19:45 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w479037
