Islamabad, 02 Sha'ban,1438 AH, 28 April,2017 , SPA -- A senior Pakistani military delegation discussed security cooperation with senior officials in Afghanistan yesterday A statement issued by the information administration of the the Pakistani Army said a military delegation led by Chief of Staff General Bilal Akbar paid a visit to Afghanistan under the special direction of the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Amar Javed Bajo. The Pakistani delegation in Kabul met with the Acting Minister of Defense of Afghanistan Tariq Shah Bahrami and Afghan Army Commander General Mohammad Sharif Yiftali. He added that the Pakistani delegation discussed with the Afghan side the security situation on both sides of the common border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, stressing the importance of strengthening coordination to reduce the infiltration of terrorist elements that threaten the security of the two countries jointly. The Pakistani delegation also conveyed Pakistan's condolences to the Government and people of Afghanistan in the victims of the attack on a military base in the Balkh region a few days ago, stressing Pakistan's stand with Afghanistan and its armed forces in countering terrorism and its commitment not to allow terrorist elements to use their territory against Afghanistan. -- SPA 10:16 LOCAL TIME 07:16 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w388206
