The Embassy confirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Malaysia also share their views and have been working together at the international forums such as the United Nations as well as in the OIC in finding solutions to series of issues including Palestine, human rights, as well as Muslim minorities. In general, trade relations between Malaysia and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been increasing year after year where volume of trade of both countries amounted to USD 3.38 billion in 2016 compared to USD 2.81 billion in 2015. Volume of trade is in favor of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Products imported from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia include crude oil, petrochemicals, and mineral resources while Malaysia’s products to the Kingdom include electrical equipment, machineries, spare parts, palm oil, vegetable oil, wood products and others. On the participation of Malaysia in the Islamic military alliance to fight terrorism, the Embassy explained that Malaysia has been closely working together with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the efforts to combat terrorism in the region. Our military has participated in the North Thunder Military Exercise in Hafr Al Batin and other parts of the Kingdom, as part of its involvement in the Islamic Military Alliance which will contribute to enhancing skills, preparedness, readiness and joint operational experience with other countries especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
