Security spokesman: Saudi-Egyptian Security Cooperation Thwarts Smuggling more than 7 Millions of Captagon Pills

Riyadh, Rabi'II 5, 1438, Jan 3, 2017, SPA -- The Security Spokesman of Interior Ministry stated that as a result of coordination and cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's competent security authorities and their counterparts in sisterly and friendly countries in the fight against criminal activities targeting the Kingdom with drugs and based on the availability of shared information with the competent authority in the Arab Republic of Egypt on an attempt to smuggle a huge amount of amphetamine pills and other banned materials into Saudi territories, the Egyptian authorities have managed in the seizure of these drugs before smuggling them into the Kingdom. The Spokesman said that the seized amount included (07,383,000) amphetamine narcotic pills (Captagon) and (432,000) other drug pills, adding that five smugglers involved in the thwarted operation have been arrested. --SPA 15:47 LOCAL TIME 12:47 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w305381
