Beijing, Rabi'I 21, 1438, Dec 20, 2016, SPA -- Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of the Saudi General Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, said at the opening of Saudi Arabia's Masterpieces over history exhibition at Beijing national museum that the exhibition of Saudi historical and antiquities masterpieces in China is a meeting of two of the world's great civilizations. Opening the Trade Route in Arab Peninsula: Saudi Arabia's antiquities masterpieces over eras in Beijing today under the patronage of China's minister of culture Luo Shu Gang, Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz said that the event comes at an important phase of the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, considered, in addition to his political wisdom and prudent leadership, a prominent literate and historian. He said that Saudi Arabia is not only an oil exporter but a nation based on a rich legacy and civilization, citing that the religious, politic, economic and civilization status the Kingdom is enjoying among today's world community is an extension of a deep-rooted civilization heritage. He said the purpose of the exhibition is to brief Chinese people on some highlights of the history of their partner: Saudi Arabia, and show them that they are making new history with people whose predecessors have made past history, like Chinese, an understanding expected to augment chances of continuing the relationship at all levels and fields. He cast light on the status of the sacred places, like Makkah, over history, recalling that Prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail have laid down the bases of Allah Almighty's house in Makkah in the late second century B.C., making the city ever since that time an orientation of worshippers, intellectuals, thinkers, artists, politicians, historians and merchants. --More 19:52 LOCAL TIME 16:52 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w294955
