Fez, Morocco, 06 Ramadan, 1435, 03 July, 2014, SPA - - Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities opened Bab Al-A'jeesah Mosque in the Moroccan city of Fez yesterday evening after its restoration from his own finances as a charity for the soul of his mother (May Allah bestow mercy upon her soul). The Prince performed Al-Maghreb prayers at the mosque. The restoration works of the mosque of the properties of Moroccan Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs have lasted for 14 months under the general supervision of Heritage Installations Company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its implementation by the Agency for International Development and Rehabilitation for the City of Fez. The mosque was built in late 16th century on an area of 11,300 square meters, and it can accommodate about 660 worshipers. The opening ceremony was attended by Prince Rashid bin Hassan II, as Representative of King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco, Moroccan Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ahmed Al-Tawfiq; and Saudi Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco Dr. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Judie'. --SPA 11:59 LOCAL TIME 08:59 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
