Jeddah, Dhu-AlHijjah 16, 1437, Sep 17, 2016, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, has taken a firm stance against terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations, at the local as well as the international levels. Saudi Arabia, one of the first countries that paid great attention to the phenomenon of terrorism and the importance of concrete steps, in the fight against this dangerous phenomenon, contributed effectively to address them, its horrors and devastating consequences in Arab as well as international conferences and meetings. The Kingdom was the first country to sign combating international terrorism treaty of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in May of 2000, and the leading nation in urging the international community to deal with terrorism and stood with all peace-loving nations, in the fight and work to eliminate and eradicate it from its roots and called on international community for the adoption of a comprehensive action, in the framework of international legitimacy to ensure the eradication of terrorism and safeguard the lives of innocent people, preserve the sovereignty of states and their security and stability. These culminated in Saudi Arabia's playing host to the international anti-terrorism conference, held in Riyadh on 25 Dhu al-Hijjah of the year 1425 corresponding to February 5 of 2005, with the participation of more than 50 Arab, Islamic and foreign countries as well as a number of international, regional and Arab organizations, in culmination of efforts, in the fight against terrorism in all its forms, at the local, regional and international levels, proceeding from the belief that terrorism is a serious global problem that must be addressed through cooperation of all countries, solidarity and concerted efforts. The Kingdom suffered, too much, as a part of the world of violence and terrorism, as it has become a global phenomenon with varied methods and means, affecting many nations, in the world, as it is a serious scourge with no country or religion, recognizing no genre, time or a place. However, it cannot defeat strongly faithful nations, incorporated with their leadership such people such as Saudi Arabia which the hands and the arms of its security men sons, managed to cut off its way, who brave have tumbled principles of terrorists' ideas, while their misguided approach was confronted by Saudi scholars and sheikhs, who refuted their false arguments and inferred evidences from the Quran and Sunnah to explain their mistakes and corruption and nullity. Saudi Arabia has a dual basis strategy towards tackling violence and terrorism on the local and international levels. Globally, it denounces and condemns it, while it fiercely fight it, locally.
