Jeddah, Shawwal 20, 1437, Jul 25, 2016, SPA -- Five border guard martyred following fire exchange with armed infiltrators at the southern border, Najran region, it was officially reported here today. An official source of the Ministry of Interior said that at 06:00am today, border guard patrols at Al-Thar border post detected an armed group of people trying to infiltrate across the border of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from different directions at Khabash sector in Najran region. They were immediately confronted by the border guard who exchanged fire with them and, with the support of land forces, successfully foiled their attempt. The more-than-eight-hour armed confrontation resulted in the martyrdom of five border guard. They are Lance Corporal Sulaiman bin Saeed bin Sulaiman Al-Maeedi; Lance Corporal Musa bin Zain bin Mohammed Al-Marhabi; Lance Corporal Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Hasan Shraheeli; Lance Corporal Marzooq bin Saeed bin Ali Al-Salloum and Lance Corporal Jaber bin Ali bin Hussein Al-Alawe. --SPS 20:13 LOCAL TIME 17:13 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
