MIAMI, Florida, Dhu-AlHijjah 4, 1436, Sep 18, 2015, SPA -- A new tropical depression has formed over the eastern Atlantic Ocean and is expected to strengthen through the weekend, U.S. forecasters said Friday. The National Hurricane Center said that the depression early Friday was roughly 1,400 kilometers west-southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, with sustained winds of up to 48 kilometers per hour (kph). It was moving west-northwest at 14 kph, and posed no threat to land. It is the tenth tropical depression of the season in the Atlantic. Meanwhile, another depression was weakening, with maximum sustained winds early Friday near 48 kph. It is expected to become a remnant low later in the day. That depression was centered about 1,682 kilometers east of the Lesser Antilles and was moving north-northwest near 11 kph. --SPA 18:30 LOCAL TIME 15:30 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
