UNITED NATIONS, Dhu-AlHijjah 14, 1436, September 28, 2015, SPA -- U.S. President Barack Obama criticized Syrian Regime and depicted Assad as tyrant. Addressing the U.N. General Assembly on Monday, he said that the efforts being exerted to depose ISIS should not support Assad. He said the United States is willing to work with other countries to achieve a “managed transition” to remove Syrian President Bashar al-Assad from power. Syria cannot “return to the pre-war status quo,” he said. He added that the situation in Syria is testing the world community order called upon by the United Nations, lauding the diplomatic efforts being exerted by the United Nations. He pointed to an increase in number of refugees being received by his country and vowed to continue all humanitarian assistance to them. On the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers, he said it is a lasting, comprehensive deal that prevents in Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. And if this deal is fully implemented, the prohibition on nuclear weapons is strengthened, a potential war is averted, and our world is safer,” the president said. --SPA 21:56 LOCAL TIME 18:56 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
