Geneva, Jumada I 11, 1436, March 02, 2015, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has called for doubling the efforts to confront the phenomenon of defaming of religions and beliefs and blaspheming of prophets and religious figures, confirming its commitment to enhance human rights as per its firm approach derived from the Islamic Sharia which instructed its followers to protect human rights and refrain from violating them. In a speech before the 28th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva today, Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Chairman of the Saudi Commission for Human Rights, gave an account on the newly-enacted regulations and laws prescribed to further enhance human rights in Saudi Arabia on the basics of Islamic Sharia, citing the laws in protection of children and combating of family violence. He highlighted the recent Royal Orders by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in support of all registered civil institutions in the amount of SR2 billion, the cooperative associations council with SR2 billion, the specialized vocational associations with SR10 million each in addition to the generous donation for literal and sports clubs. --More 22:31 LOCAL TIME 19:31 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
