Jeddah, Dhu-AlQa'dah 16, 1435, September 11, 2014, SPA -- Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the foreign minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, said here today that the threat of terrorism which started to spread fiercely in the region is the one from which the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has long time ago warned. In a joint press conference with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, Prince Saud Al-Faisal said following the regional meeting designed to discuss ways of combating terrorism in the region with the participation of foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and the United States of America, that this meeting comes amid the rising of the threat of terrorism in the region and the increase of number of terrorist organizations supporting it. Prince Saud Al-Faisal recalled that this threat which started to spread in the region fiercely is the one from which the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has long time ago warned from, the last of which was on the first of last August when he said "it is shameful that those terrorists are doing this in the name of our religion, killing innocent people, mutilating their dead bodies and speaking proudly for this in the name of the religion which is innocent, thus defaming the profile of Islam, which in fact a pure, human and correct religion". On the spot, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques called on the leaders of the world and Ulema of the Islamic world to do their duties to face extremism, hatred and terrorism and expressed upset that the world community is silent towards what is happening in the entire region, Prince Saud added. Prince Saud Al-Faisal said that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has sent a message when he received ambassadors of several ambassadors on 29th of August this year underscoring the importance of fighting this malignant lesion with the most possible force, reason and speed, warning from neglecting it, otherwise it would spread in Europe and America in few months.
