Riyadh, Sha'ban 02, 1436, May 20, 2015, SPA -- The Higher Committee of the First Conference on Controls on the Use of Social Media in Islam held a meeting on Wednesday. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Saed Al-Orabi Al-Harthy, Interior Minister's adviser and Secretary General of Naif bin Abdulaziz International Prize for the Prophet's Sunnah and Contemporary Islamic Studies. The conference is organized by Naif bin Abdulaziz International Prize for the Prophet's Sunnah and Contemporary Islamic Studies in partnership with the Islamic University in Madinah. At the beginning of the meeting, Dr Al-Harthy stressed the importance of the conference in tackling the issue of spreading awareness about the benefits and misuses of social media.
