Cairo, Shawwal 12, 1435, Aug 8, 2014, SPA -- A Kuwaiti plane carrying aid supplies for the Palestinians in Gaza Strip arrived in the Egyptian airport of Ismailia (120 kilometers northeast of Cairo) on Thursday. The plane carries up to 10 tonnes of medical supplies for the Strip that reeled under Israeli military aggression for four weeks, leaving more than 1800 dead and almost 10,000 injured, in addition to the damage of infrastructure and houses, KUNA reported. The Strip hospitals suffer from shortage of medical supplies. This is the first of a Kuwaiti airlift for delivering medications and medical supplies to the Gaza hospitals, Head of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) relief mission in Gaza Khalid Al-Zeid said. They will be distributed in cooperation with the Palestinian Red Crescent. The tonnes of aid will be carried through the Rafah crossing from Egypt into Gaza, Al-Zeid said, lauding efforts by the Egyptian authorities coordinating the transfer of the shipment. --SPA 11:25 LOCAL TIME 08:25 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
