Riyadh, April 14, 2021, SPA -- Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), affirmed today the necessity for the GCC states to participate in the ongoing negotiations among the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Germany and the Islamic Republic of Iran, related to the nuclear agreement on Iran's nuclear program. In letters sent today to the foreign ministers of the United States of America, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany, Al-Hajraf stressed that the GCC is a major contributor to enhancing the security and stability of the region, adding that the ongoing negotiations in Vienna must not be limited to the Iranian nuclear program, but rather must include Iranian destabilizing conduct, ballistic missiles, and drones. The GCC Secretary General warned that Iran's announcement of reaching 60% of uranium enrichment is a dangerous and worrying indicator for the security of the region and the world, calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards this dangerous and threatening development for regional and global peace and security. --SPA 23:05 LOCAL TIME 20:05 GMT 0032 www.spa.gov.sa/w1543206
