1266 COVID-19 new cases reported in Saudi Arabia, Health Ministry Spokesperson announces

Riyadh, April 28, 2020, SPA -- Assistant Minister of Health Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali who is also Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, said that 1266 new cases were reported today in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, adding that 841 confirmed cases were detected via active screening process, representing 66% of the total cases. In a press conference today, Dr. Al-Abdulaali said that the new cases were reported in many cities as follows: Makkah (327), Madinah (273), Jeddah (262), Riyadh (171), Jubail (58), Dammam (35), Taif (32), Tabuk (29), Al-Zulfi (18), Khulais (9), Buraidah (8), Al-Khobar (7), Hufof (5), Qattif (4), Ras Tanura (4), Adhum (3), two cases in each of Yanbu, Bisah, Al-Majaridah, Diriyah and Al-Jafr, and one case in each of Hafar Al-Batin, Dhahran, Bqeeq, Sajir, Wadi Al-Dawasir, Hail, Sakaka, Dhalm, Abha, Khamis Mushait and Sabya. He pointed out that the cases confirmed today represent 77% for non-Saudis and 23% for Saudi nationals. Dr. Al-Abdulaali also said that the total COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is 20077, including 17141 active cases and 118 critical cases. The number of the new recoveries is 253, bringing the total number to 2784, he said, adding that the number of the new deaths is 8, bringing the total death toll to 152.
