Dr. Majid Al-Qassabi, the Saudi Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Foreign Trade of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and his Turkish counterpart, Dr. Mehmet Muş, inaugurated Sunday evening the first Turkish Export Products Trade Fair “Turk Expo 2023” in Riyadh with participation of 150 Turkish companies and attendance of a large group of visitors. Commenting on the occasion, Al-Qassabi said that the exhibition industry is very important, given the opportunities it creates for investors, enabling them to directly learn more about different industries. The Turkish export products trade fair held in Riyadh, he added, strengthens commercial relations between Saudi Arabia and Turkey by introducing the exhibited products to both investors and importers. The Saudi Minister thanked the organizers of the Expo and expressed his wish that there would be an annual exhibition for Turkish products in Saudi Arabia and vice versa, with the aim of maximizing trade between the countries. Sharing his views on the trade fair, Mehmet Muş thanked all organizers of the Turkish export products trade fair and all those who contributed to its success. He said “At the same time, I think the participants will sign many bilateral agreements – we are certain and firm in going ahead to develop our relations even more. I thank Al-Qassabi for his hospitality and valuable contribution that enabled the exhibition.” Held at Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center (RICEC) for three days from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., the expo, covering an area of 7,000 square meters, will focus on export products and showcase a wide range of industrial technology, beauty and cleaning products, as well as home and furniture, packaging, fashion/textile, food/agricultural products, building materials, drugs/medical products and electrical and electronics industries. Supported by the Federation of Saudi Chambers and Riyadh Chamber of Commerce, the expo offers a great opportunity to connect with other Turkish businesses and manufacturers. It also provides an access to the latest industry trends and challenges, which enables businesses to keep pace with the latest technological and market developments. Stating that the Turk Expo opened its doors to visitors today, Adil Pelister, Coordinator Chairman of Istanbul Mineral & Metals Exporters’ Association (IMMIB) and Vice Chairman of Türkiye Exporters Assembly, said: "To improve our bilateral trade, we are organizing a trade fair in Saudi Arabia for the first time in which only Turkish brands take part. We are pleased to bring Turkish brands together with their potential Saudi partners at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.” In addition to the trade fair, bilateral business meetings will also be organized. We hope that this step will increase mutual coopoeration for more trade volume. Our trade volume with Saudi Arabia was 6.55 billion dollars in 2022. We expect to surpass these figures this year. We want to increase the cooperation between the two countries. I wish all exhibitors and visitors every success and hope that the fair will be fruitful." On this occasion, Istanbul Mineral and Metal Exporters Association (organizer) and Cosmos Events Company (co-organizer) have called on all professionals in Saudi Arabia to register themselves as visitors by accessing the event’s website www.turkexpo.com.tr and to register at www.turkexpo.co if they plan to meet with exhibitors.
