Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef has concluded his official visit to Türkiye, which aimed to enhance the joint work between the two countries in the mining and industrial sectors. Al-Khorayef’s visit also aimed at increasing the exchange of trade and non-oil exports, in addition to discussing the qualitative investment opportunities and attracting them in the mining and industrial sectors. The minister has met, during his visit to Ankara, with Türkiye’s Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır to discuss enhancing the industrial cooperation between the two countries. He also met the Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, where the two sides discussed strengthening the level of economic partnership between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye. On the other hand, Al-Khorayef met with Türkiye’s Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat to discuss with him the opportunities for enhancing the trade exchange, and increasing access to non-oil exports between the two sides. The Saudi minister has discussed opportunities for cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Türkiye with the Turkish president of the Defense Industry Agency, Professor Haluk Görgün. Moreover, Al-Khorayef participated in the round table meeting which hosted by the Turkish DEIK establishment in Istanbul. This is in addition to a meeting in Ankara at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, during which, he met with a number of investors to discuss promising investment opportunities in the mining and industrial sectors, as well as a number of advantages and capabilities that Saudi Arabia offers to investors. The Saudi minister made a field visit to a number of Turkish companies and factories, where he met the officials there and reviewed the latest technologies used in automation and the technologies of the fourth industrial revolution. He also discussed ways to enhance the cooperation between the private sector in Türkiye and Saudi Arabia, in a way contributing to transferring and exchanging the experiences between the two sides. Al-Khorayef signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to cooperate in the mining sector. He also witnessed the signing of the MoU between Saudi Arabia’s National Industrial Development Center (NIDC) and a Turkish company, with the aim of enhancing cooperation in the fields of industry, technology, and innovation. The minister attended the signing of a MoU between the NIDC and the Turkish company RoboTurkiye in Istanbul, for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence. Al-Khorayef’s visit also witnessed meeting with a number of Saudi male and female students on scholarships in Türkiye, in the presence of the Consul General in Istanbul, Abdulmajeed Bin Hamad Al-Dosari, and the Saudi cultural attaché in Türkiye, Dr. Faisal Bin Abdulrahman Osra.
