RIYADH: The King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language, in cooperation with the Digital Government Authority, will be launching a dictionary of “e-government terminology.” The aim is to ensure consistency in Arabic spellings of words for public servants and researchers, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, secretary-general of the academy, thanked Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan and the chairman of the academy’s board for supporting the creation of the dictionary. Al-Washmi also thanked Ahmed Al-Soyyan, governor of the Digital Government Authority, for his efforts. The dictionary will include the most important words used on e-government platforms. The lexicon will be arranged in alphabetical order in Arabic and English. “The dictionary will help reduce confusion and misunderstanding of terms related to digital government, enhancing clarity and accuracy in communication, and accelerating the pace of digital transformation in the Kingdom,” SPA reported.
