Saudi Minister of Media Salman Al-Dosari emphasized the necessity for enhanced Arab media collaboration to tackle political and security challenges facing the region. The minister made the remarks on Tuesday during the 19th executive bureau session of the Arab Information Ministers Council in Manama, Bahrain. The session, attended by heads of Arab delegations, institutions, and associations, focused on advancing joint media efforts to promote prosperity and growth across Arab nations. Al-Dosari highlighted the need for a unified media front to effectively address these challenges and advocate for the Arab world’s interests on the international stage. “Today, we convene to discuss 19 agenda items within the framework of Arab efforts aimed at developing joint Arab media work, with the Palestinian cause at the forefront,” he stated. The minister expressed concern over recent developments in Gaza, criticizing the international community"s failure to stop the occupation forces" aggression, deliver necessary humanitarian aid, and find a fair and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue based on international legitimacy. He also mentioned the Kingdom"s leadership role in proposing initiatives for engaging positively with international media companies, aiming to protect the rights and interests of Arab countries and foster a conducive environment for the media industry. The meeting also explored enhancing media content leveraging technological advancements in communication and discussed the media"s role in countering terrorism, the Arab League"s monitoring efforts, and the Arab media strategy for sustainable development leading up to 2030.
