Saudi Ministry of Housing has announced kickstarting needed procedures for establishing four new residential projects which will see an additional 3,636 housing units for citizens registered in waiting lists, namely in Dammam, Al Ahsa and Jizan. The ministry said in a Wednesday statement that it will increase the construction projects to produce more housing units which meet the needs of citizens and provide them with appropriate housing options. The ministry’s target has been set at producing 300,000 thousand housing and financing services. Housing projects encompass 2,667 townhouse units in Dammam, 777 apartments in the Jizan and 192 villas in Al-Ahsa Governorate. They are priced in ratio to financial capabilities of beneficiaries, ranging from SR250,000 to SR700,000 riyals ($67,000- $187,000 thousand). The ministry said that these housing projects will come with complete infrastructure networks, lighting, electricity, water, telecommunications, sanitation, health and education services, green spaces, parks, mosques, schools, playgrounds, family entertainment platforms and all regulated forms of modern public services and life. More so, the housing ministry had recently announced launching the second phase of the 2018 program, which includes 125,000 housing units in partnership with the private sector, and 75,000 free residential land plots, in addition to 100,000 funds powered by a partnership between the national real estate development fund, banks and financial institutions. During the program’s first installment, some 20,000 housing units and funds were successfully allocated.
