Saudi air defenses destroyed on Tuesday a ballistic missile fired by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen towards the Kingdom. Saudi-led Arab coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki said that the missile was fired from Yemen’s Saada towards the al-Shuqaiq region. The missile was deliberately directed at residential areas and was intercepted and destroyed by the air defenses, he added. No one was injured in the incident. This hostile act demonstrates the Iranian regime’s ongoing involvement in supporting the Houthis with weapons in clear and blatant violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions 2216 and 2231, he stressed.
