Canberra, Shawwal 14, 1432, Sep 12, 2011, SPA - The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon said Sunday he hoped to conclude an international treaty to combat terrorism. In a press statement, prior to his departure from Australia (after a visit), he said "We look forward to a comprehensive treaty dealing with international terrorism in all its forms, integrating every aspect of counter-terrorism (measures) and giving a new impetus to the fight against its dangers. The United Nations has failed so far in drafting a comprehensive treaty against terrorism, and there are 13 separate U.N. treaties covering financing of terrorism, kidnappings and weapons of mass destruction. --SPA 14:33 LOCAL TIME 11:33 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/924251
