In a statement following its meeting at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo today, the committee confirmed that the U.S. failure to coerce Israel halt its settlement activity in the Palestinian territories made it necessary to announce the borders of the two states on the bases of June 67 parallels, bringing about security comes through fair and comprehensive solution to the Arab Israeli dispute and any security arrangements should guarantee complete and comprehensive withdrawal of Israel from the occupied Palestinian territories. The committee held Israel responsible of derailing the negotiable process which was launched in Washington early September 2010 given its insistence of continuing its colonial settlement activity instead of peace. The committee also reiterated its confirmation that resuming Palestine Israeli talks requires complete halt of all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories, including eastern Al-Quds and the respect of peace process references. However, it paid tribute to the recognition of Brazil and Argentina of the Palestinian state on the 67 parallels with Al-Quds as its capital, calling on other countries who have not yet recognized the Palestinian state to follow suit.
