NEW DELHI, May 06, SPA -- Suspected communist rebels blew up a vehicle carrying government forces in India's restive easton Wednesday, killing at least nine people, police said. The attackers detonated a land mine as the nine werereturning after delivering supplies to a police station inDantewada district, about 315 miles (500 kilometers) southof Raipur, the capital of Jharkhand state, said AmarnathUpadhyaya, a police inspector-general. Those killed were two paramilitary soldiers, four membersof a government-supported armed vigilante group that fightssuspected rebels and three civilians, Upadhyaya told TheAssociated Press.
