BAGHDAD, August 19, SPA -- Hospital and medical officials say a series of explosions targeting government and commercial buildings in Baghdad killed at least 75 people and wounded more than 300. The attacks started shortly after 10 a.m. on Wednesday,striking first near the finance ministry in northernBaghdad and then minutes later, near the foreign ministrynext to the fortified Green Zone, The Associated Press reported. The deadliest of the blasts was a car bomb near theforeign ministry, which killed dozens and wounded more than250. The officials expect the toll to climb.
