ISLAMABAD, March 09, SPA -- Pakistani troops backed by helicoptergunships attacked militants close to the Afghan border, killing 15 of them, a government official said Monday. The violence Sunday took place in Mohamed tribal regionhours after suspected Taliban fighters killed 13paramilitary police officers, Associated Press reported. In late February, the military took journalists to Mohamedand neighboring Bajur and claimed major security gains inboth regions. Meraj Khan, a government representative in Mohamed, saidthe attack on the militants took place late Sunday in theSalam Koroona area.
