The Dammam-based Al-Yaum, commenting on the trial of those who are accused of involvement in the assassination Rafiq al-Hariri four years ago in Beirut, said this heinous crime was about to transform Lebanon into a state of chaos and instability. The daily hoped that the trial would disclose the real assassins who should be brought to justice. The significance of the trial is stemming from the fact that assassination should never be the proper way for liquidation of the political enmity. "Moreover, the culprits should never feel that they are above the law and can escape punishment". It is true that the trial targets the assassins of Hariri, but it also means the trial of all political crimes in Lebanon which have led to the killing of a number of politicians, ministers and media men. The trial is also a strong-worded message for avoiding turning the political differences into means of getting rid of opponents. "If we are keen that the world respects us as Arabs, then we should first respect ourselves and even our opponents," it added.--MORE www.spa.gov.sa/640121
