Riyadh, Mar 28, SPA -- Saudi Newspapers today editorially expressed optimism over success of the 19th Arab summit in forging solidarity and resolving key issues of concern to the Arab world. The papers also lauded the extraordinary preparations made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to ensure the summit's success, remove all shortcomings and opt for practical and applicable decisions as well as unify Arab ranks. "Al-Riyadh" newspaper said the Arab Summit cannot bear failure because we are facing bloodshed, retreat and became a nation of many sects. The paper added that this summit represents the sole occasion to correct the march of our political life and shoulder responsibility by confronting the current circumstances, to create solidarity which is broken when facing any extraordinary or accidental developments. "Allour failures were of our own make and weaknesses. It is better for us not to resort to excuses and justifications." Meanwhile, the Riyadh-based "Al-Jazirah" newspaper said the proper preparations for the 19th Arab summit which opens later today, reflects a rare Arab agreement on the summit's agenda with regard to works in the Arab arena for the next year. The daily noted that the summit will give some time for separate discussions on Darfur issue, since it is one of the important topics on the summit's agenda, adding that this step may represents a major breakthrough to seize this rare opportunity to make progress in solving this problem. The paper indicated that other issues like Lebanese and Iraqi ones as well as the nuclear energy also attracted similar attention of the Summit.
