Tunis, Jan 29, SPA -- Saudi Interior Minister Prince Naif Bin Abdul-Aziz, who is also the Honorary President of the Council of the Arab Interior ministers, affirmed yesterday that the invitation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz for the Palestinian brothers to meet in the Kingdom at the Holy Mosque in Makkah, has received broad welcome in the Palestinian arena. "This invitation translates the policy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with regard to the Palestinian issue ever since the era of the late King Abdul Aziz," Prince Naif said. "The address of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has worked to translate the policy of the Kingdom with regard to the Palestinian issue. This is the right approach as the Kingdom seeks reconciliation among Palestinians. The Kingdom has no other interest in this regard except for Palestine and the Palestinian people." In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency after his arrival in Tunis last night to head the Saudi delegation at the Fourth session of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, which begins later today, Prince Naif expressed hope that the brothers in Palestine, appreciate this noble invitation and reach an agreement for the best of the people of Palestine and the Arab nation. He said the Council's deliberations will be held in accordance with the carefully selected agenda which is prepared by security sectors in all Arab countries. "Therefore, the ministers will engage into useful consultations and adjust to what they perceive need to be amended and what they desire for making appropriate decisions," Prince Naif added. He said the meting will cover all areas of security and safety strategies and their necessary follow-up. "It is obvious the circumstances in which we live now in the world and in the Arab region, this must be the priority of interior ministers in investigation and to cooperate fully in accordance with the agreement on fighting Terrorism, signed in 1998," Prince Naif added. He also underlined the necessity that there must be a joint effort and before that an understanding about the concept of terrorism, sources and causes in order to fight it and root it out not only from security point of view but intellectually.--MORE www.spa.gov.sa/421713
